which lift to run 35"
I am in the same boat. Was looking at the FT Ultimate kit, but, figured that if I go with the Premium, the money saved will handle my new gear setup.
Any major drawbacks to the Premium kit compared to the Ultimate?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I am more of a weekend wheeler given the work schedule, so, even though the Ultimate is a great kit, financially, the Premium is more appealing. I just don't want to end up needing to buy other components to complete the kit, you know?
Fellas? Ladies? Anyone?

Yup, it only has a relocation bracket in the rear but in all honesty, that's all you really need. An adjustable front track bar is critical to have as your front axle controls steering and the Premium kit comes with one.
Necessity? No. Adjustable fronts will just help you to dial in your caster to exactly where you want or need it to be. But, with the amount of lift you will be getting and the new longer lowers, you should be fine without them. And, if in the future you decide that you do want them, they can always be purchased separately
I have the 4" Superlift on my Unlimited Rubicon w/ 35X12.50 BF G Muds on 16X8 black Rock Crawlers. I hate to talk so good about something because with my luck after I do.....something will break, but here goes. Drives great no clearence issues at all. I did not cut rock rails or anything else. Customer service was awesome. I guess I got one of the first kits and there were a couple of pieces missing; nothing major, stuff I could have picked up around town, but called Superlift and they overnighted parts w/ no problems. I installed this lift in my driveway by myself. I am no mechanic and all I used were regular hand tools, in fact I didnt even have box wrenches to fit some of the larger bolts so I used cresent wrenches for most of it. However it did take me about 4 days to do it working on it a few hours a day. If you had everything you needed and a little help and some air tools, I do not see why it couldn't be done in a day. I did not install the cam bolts because I may get Rockrunner arms in the future. The instructions were decent, however it did not say anything about removing the "knock out" tabs on the front lower control arm bracket to install the cam bolts. The only reason I knew you were supposed to do it was because of the great people on this forum. Called Superlift and they explained this to me. I figured to not put them in and just see how it drove. I have had 2 TJ's my first had a 4" ProComp w/ 33's the other I had 4.5" Rubicon Express Superflex w/ 1" body on 35's. I am assuming because of the longer wheel base but the Unlimited rides a LOT better. The shocks are a little stiff but only because I used the basic shocks that came w/ the kit. But so far that would be the only thing I would change.....but like I said it is not a bad ride at all. In fact me and wifeys first impressions were Dam this thing rides great to be lifted. And thats before I took it for an alignment. When I did take it to a shop they really didnt do anything and said it looked good to them. I mean it tracked straight and had no vibrations so "if it aint broke". The rear track bar bracket concerned me a little w/ people talking about the Skyjacker problems but from what I see the Skyjacker bracket sits higher than Superlift which is probably the cause of the problem. No ESP problems at all after I straightened out the steering wheel. Couldn't be happier w/ the ride and performance offroad and especially the price of this kit.
This is a great thread. I also have a Rubi Unlimited and I want to eventually go to 35".
Thanks to all of the folks who posted opinions. Eddie, thanks for the very complete write-up of your experience with the Full Traction Ultimate Lift.
BTW, my Rubi Unlimited is white as well!!:toung:

WOL : Are you sure the FT Premium lowers are longer? I was hoping mine were, but when I installed them I couldn't tell the difference. If they are longer it must only be a little bit.
The Premium kit is a great kit that comes with just about everything you need including new lower control arms that are longer than stock and will help correct your caster angle once installed. The only thing more that the Ultimate kit really has over it is adjustable upper control arms as well. And, of that, you only really need the fronts if your caster needs to be adjusted more... but, I doubt you'll need them.
No, I'm not 100% sure but I had assumed that they would be at least up front by just a bit. The rears should be the same length or very close to it. If they were longer, your coils would start hitting the rear track bar and your pinion angle would be off.
