Default Lift Time Soon...

If scheduling allows, Im going to put in my Teraflex 2.5 Coil lift this weekend. Before I get to doing this - by myself - Im trying to get a handle on all the tools Im going to need. I think Im straight on this thanks to some previous posts Ive searched. My two final concerns are:

1. Do I need coil compressors?
2. MOST IMPORTANT....how to I deal with the rear bracket that comes with the kit if it DOES NOT line up properly? I know Teraflex is aware of the issue and I believe they are making a modification to the piece. I sent Joe an email but not sure if the redesigned bracket is available yet.

Thanks!

Bubba

I just put on the 3 inch teraflex lift this past weekend and did not need to use a spring compressor, so I feel that you prolly will have lots of room for play with the 2.5 inch lift.

Second, the rear bracket went on perfectly. This problem might still exist but mine went on without a hitch.

I hope this helps

2. If you rear axle doesn't line up .... with the JK on the ground you can either have someone push the side of your JK as you try to connect the track bar or you can use a ratchet strap and attach one end to your axle and the other to the frame (on the side you need it to move too).

Using a ratchett strap avoids pushing on a vehicle that's up on a jack or jack stands.

The JK needs to be on the ground, not on jack stands, to install the track bar.

My rear drop bracket did not line up properly, it would not slide all the way up into the housing.

We just took a grinder to the bottom of the housing (the Jeep part not the bracket) and shaved off maybe an 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch. Added a little rattle can looks good as new and fit perfect.

Thanks Fellas! I wont know the deal with the bracket until the install but using a grinder seems to be the most logical solution. Hoping I dont have to though.

I did not need a coil spring compressor to install my tera 3" coils. Just in case though since I did not know if I would need it I rented one from autozone. I would recommend you do the same so that if you need it you have it. It is free to borrow, you just make a deposit that they give you back in full.
