I had close to 4" in lift which may have made the difference on the highway, but it never stayed in 4th gear. Having a procal would certainly change things. It would be a huge help to change shift points, without a doubt. But my opinion remains the same after owning my current 6speed. And like I wrote before, if you do the math, a 5.13 auto is almost identical to a 4.10 6speed in final gear ratio, no matter what tire you own.

No, the auto shifted into 4th but would soon be shifting right back into 3rd again on it's own. I just finally ended up having to hit the O/D button every time I got in and drove so it wouldn't be gear searching all the time.

And yes, sometimes I would do my own gear shifting!! 1-2-D

Come on man. Sure, your diameter will only be a little larger but ya know it's gonna be a lot wider too! And, with the tires usually comes wheels which are usually also wider. All of this adds a lot of rolling weight and changes things big time over stock!

I have a 09 X Unlimited, auto, 3:73's, 2.5" TF BB and 285/75/16"s... almost 33's... with the ProCal. After I lifted it and put bigger tires I was worried it would be real sluggish, but it's not like I thought it would be. It's just a little slower. I wouldn't go any bigger than the tires I have on right now without regearing. On the flat highway it stays in 4th gear and cruises at about 1650 to 1700 RPM at 65 to 70 mph. On a upgrade it will shift down to 3rd. I live at 6500 feet and drive down the mountain to sea level three days a week. On the way back up the mountain I have the OD off of course and it pretty much stays in 3rd gear all the way up until I hit a real steep part of the road, then it shifts down to 2nd for a bit. Not too bad really. After my 33's wear out I'm really thinking of 35's and 4:88's. But for now I can live with my set up with no complaints.
