Good data point. You have an '08 too so perhaps it is due to the oversized bolt that secures the boot in place (which they changed from '07 to '08).

OK and you did wheel and flex it, this is a good data point, thanks for sharing. You are ABSOLUTELY sure you haven't torn it yet, right? I think if you squeeze it a little you could feel air rush out or hiss out of a tear around the area where the clamp is (that seems to be where it is happening).

Oh I see yours is an 07 "hers" is the 08, my bad..

OK do you know if it's a mid-production 07 as that is actually when all these things were being fixed (a big list I heard). Otherwise maybe it is just luck. ??

I had a 3" bds with 33's and had no issues. It doesnt look like there is any tears in my boot. I just add 3/4" spacers and 35's and now it seems like I am having all kinds of issues. I just order new adj. upper front controls arms to fix the camber and now I have some kind of noise coming from somewhere if I give it some gas above about 45 or 50 miles an hour. It sounds like a heatshield rattling in the back, but who knows. Its going into the dealer Friday.

I have a 2.5 in TF BB, and 35's, and no tear yet. I am replacing the BB pucks with new OME HD coils, so I am anxious to see what will happen there.

Just an update on this, look what I found..

hxxp://www.vividracing.com/catalog/fabtech-3in-basic-lift-system-dirt-logic-shocks-jeep-wrangler-jk-0708-p-52011.html

Fabtech has a kit out for the JK which claims to include a part to avoid driveshaft boot wear. It calls it a clamp kit..
Also included is a front driveshaft boot clamp kit to allow additional clearance between the front driveshaft and transmission during full suspension articulation.
So it may possibly be that this clamp is what is the culprit.. ???

Anyone have a torn driveshaft boot that has an '09?

I had my Rusty's 2" lift + 3/4" spacers on it for over 15000 miles and a couple wheeling trips with no tearing, but my first trip out after the 4" superlift and it was toast. I ripped the rest of the boot off last weekend at Disney, so I'm glad I am installing the new front DS this weekend. It was looking pretty dry at the CV...

And you can definitely see where it got caught on the lip of the tranny pan. I moved my front axle farther to the drivers side to try to keep it from avoiding it, but apparently it is still pretty close.
