Default lifted jeep question

it seams like my rear axle is 1.5" over to the passenger side. now i looked underneath and i don't see anything bent, did i bend something or will a 2.5" bb move the axle over?

an adjustable track bar will fix ya, but if you are over 1.5", i think something else must be goin on, the track bar is what centers the axle, so unless thats bent, i dont know what else it could be, but 1.5" on a 2.5" BB is quite strange

All the jeeps have a range - but essentially, as you lift the frame, the axle is pulled BY the track bar...so get under there and look at the track bars, and where they attach to the frame, and the axles....

...and know that when you lift (Or droop), the axle will swing in towards the frame end of the bar.

That's normal.

As to HOW far, well, an inch or so is typically the order of magnitude....yours might have STARTED over a bit to start with though, before you lifted it.

The way to tell for sure as to the lift's contribution, is compress the suspension to stock height, and see what the shift changed to.

Ya, that is way too much for a 2.5" I was 1 inch with 4" springs in the back. The adjustable arm took care of it. Was the jeep on a flat surface, no jack underneath? Did you do anything recently with the jeep, like drag a big rock?

1.5" difference on the tape measure will mean the axle has only move .75", as you would only have to move it back .75" to centre it.

Defnitely needs the adjustable at the least, but that sure does seem like a lot. I was just looking at someone elses 2.5 BB and it wasn't that off by far.

But as a previous poster said, maybe every jeep is a little different.

I'd check those mounts though. They go out pretty frequently. Check out the JKS trackbar reinforcing brackets. http://store.jksmfg.com/merchant2/me..._Code=FABParts

What r you guys talking about? I'm running a 4'' lift. No adj. track bar F/R any adj. upper or lower control arms. I mean how far from center can your F/R axles be? A llittle insight would help. NOT TO STEAL THE THREAD......

well at 4" you definately need front and rear adj trackbars. one end of thr track bar is attatched to the frame, the opposite end attatches to the axle. so as the jeep lifts, it pulls the axle towards the frame mounted side.

You must have really stiff, weird handling.
I hope you have driveshafts in your budget for later, too.
