Default Lifts

Hey guys I am about to jump back into the jeep world with, hopefully, an 08 wrangler unlimited. What is the best 4.0-4.5 inch lift for the money. I don't want to go cheap I want quality but don't want to blow $3k or higher. Thanks, once I get it I'll post some pics as I customize it to my liking. Yeah, it's detonator yellow!

Welcome back!
We offer three different lifts for the JK.
Our Sport model is our basic model that fits up to 35" tires
We also offer a Short Arm and Long Arm model that fits up to 37" tires.
You can choose either our Rancho 5000's or our adjustable Rancho 9000XL's shocks and be under your stated price range as well.

We are also offering our No Limits Rebate as well.

Good luck in your choice.

Think about this decision also, you have an Unlimited with no lockers and a Dana 33.

In the future:

Will I want 35" tires with my lift?
Do I just want to look cool or is function important?
Should I just get a cheap short arm kit because its cheaper?
Whats the difference between lift kits?
Do I need to make sure I get a kit with an adjustable lower-control arm or a cheaper fixed kit, hence do I care if my jeep is a tad "flighty" on the freeway?
Do I need to upgrade my gears?
If I upgrade gears should I put lockers on since I can save a lot in labor?
Do I need lockers?
Will I ever want 37" tires?
Should I plan my gears for 37"?
Do I care if it rides nice and does offroad well or just lifts my jeep?
Will I want to go hardcore off road someday?
Should I get a long arm kit instead since I plan to be hardcore?
Should i reinforce my axle now that I have 37 inch and long arm?
Should I just replace my axle now since it solves for gears and the Dana 33?

I would recommend just a good decent kit, with a adjustable control arms... a dual-rate spring, you really don't need an adjustable shock unless your really worried about them being to stiff. Rancho is doing a good deal right now, but I'd take that $500 they are offering and make sure I'm getting the kit I want rather than just save 500. I wouldn't go for a long arm if your budget is 2k-3k with labor, you need to up your budget to 3k in parts to get into a long arm kit that's worth buying, I'd stick with a really good short arm.

but that's just my opinion, and in 2 years there is good chance you will catch the Jeep Influenza on this forum... and you'll end up tearing your kit off and putting a long arm anyway... basically wasting what your about to spend on a short arm

I'm also running the Clayton 4.5" on my DD. Currently only 35s but the 37s are coming soon. Fantastic quality, great customer service and good price considering how complete the kit is.

I am looking at lifts for my 2dr jk sport, money is a huge part of it because I don't have
Much, I want between 2.5 and 3.0 inches of lift and I need some coils that can handle rough roads with lots of pot holes, I have been looking at the rough country 2.5 looks like the only thing it really comes with is coil springs front and rear and 4 new 2.2 high performance shocks, any feedback would be nice, oh and the kit is about 390.00 plus tax shipped to my door on eBay thanks y'all

That's what I had on my 07 JKU before I went bigger. Great bang for the buck and great customer service. Rides like an empty dump truck however.

They call it "rough" for a reason, I guess.
