lighting Question
I am in the process of spending some Christmas $ on some auxiliary lighting for my JK and was wondering what people recommend in terms of the type of lights for mounting on the windshield. Would a fog, driving or a long range type of light be best for the windshield mount? I was planning on ordering the 130 watt KC daylighters for the bumper, but was looking at the 5" apollo series for the windshield. Any help is appreciated.
Switch em around , you are going to want the 130s long range on the windshield. That way you are not getting glare
Off the hood , as you would with the fogs & driving ! I have the long range KC on the windshield mounts & I can't wait for dark ! You won't be disappointed !!!!

I've seen some other threads on this if you want to search for them. I think you'll definitely want some type of long range/pencil beam for windshield mounting. If you use a wide beam like a fog you'll light up your hood and may get some glare/reflection. I'm planning this mod at some point also.
Personally I would get HID lights foe the windshield and a set of Rigid Dually 2 for the front dumper. They put out as much,if not more light, than conventional lighting with less draw on your battery. I'm running 7" HIDx lights and my Rigid 10" light bar and I can light the night like you wouldn't believe.
I run KC long range daystars on my windshield and the slim light fogs on my front bumper. Highly recommend both. The fogs have a wider beam pattern and the daystars will light up something a mile away. I would go with long range on the windshield.

I use my windshield lights for the trail and purposely have them aimed about the same height as my high beams, if I ran within the city limits with them on I'll get a ticket. My rigid light bar is aimed between my headlights on low and my stock fog lights , so if need be I can run my Rigid light bar within the city limits without getting a ticket or blinding other drivers.
