Which lights for windshield mount

Good to know! Do they come with longer bolts or do you just reuse the stock ones?
[QUOTE=Amway Man;1035710]Spot lights have a more narrow pattern than driving lights do, so my logic is that they would be even better as far as hood glare goes
Agreed go with a narrow beam pattern vs a wide one for windshield mounted lights. I would not go a narrow as "pencil" beams however, they are designed to be used in banks of lights for racing and would be IMO too narrow for use on your Jeep.

I agree with Fletch above that the narrow pencil beam would not be good on tight trails, but they are awesome if used in conjuction with fogs on the bumper and stock lights for lighting up dark backroads, and giving a great view of obstacles ahead.
Here's mine, I wouldnt change a thing (lights that is) :
On every forum there are many views - I love my 8" KC pencil beams on Mopar windshield brackets. Like with suspension, tires etc it depends what reason you're looking to use the lights for.

I'll likely add a pencil beam HID on the front bumper along with 2 additional driving lights when I upgrade to that point.
Just ordered some IPF 968 driving lights with the mopar brackets and several other smaller goodies...and LoD rock sliders
Cant wait til these come in!!Thanks for the info/input everyone!

I think it depends on the lights in question as well. I've read that some with a polished or shiny ring around the lights may cause glare but that its easily fixed with a bit of paint.
The deciding factor with me was the difference in diffusion of the beam angle. Or, in English, how wide the beam spread is for the different types. Most spot lights are just that, a light that only illuminates a spot. They seem to be about a 6* beam spread in general. I went with driving lights as they spread to an average of about 26* which will be much more helpful in my application.
Right on... Though I have to admit, the addition of my windshield lights will be about 90% cosmetic. They may get some actual use in an off-road capacity. The wife is getting me some (KC Hilites Slimlites with KC brackets) for my birthday in a few weeks and I have to tell her "driving" or "long range".
