I'm really curious to see if scraping off the insulation has a big effect on the heat in the floorboard. What has everyone else done about the installation?

Zero. The Line-X not only does a better job of insulating from heat than the material the factory uses, it has a real sound deadening property to it too.

Cedo, you're going to love this mod. Best money I've spent on my JK (see link in my sig).

I'm not so sure of that anymore. If that were the case, I'd think the factory would have sprayed it on the entire front floorboard area, but they only do it where your feet are. Curious, don't you think?

Nothing on the transmission tunnel either, and you get a lot of gear whine through there.

The small section of material they spray in back is directly over the cat which gives off a ton of heat, but nothing anywhere else behind the rear seats.

So I'm confident the ooze Chrysler squeezes onto the floor of the Jeep is in fact for heat shielding, not sound.

Jeep goes up to Linex in T-8 hours. They'll have it all day--I'll get some pics up when I get her back!

So did you get it back? where are the pics? I just got same price of $600 for 4dr in NC and $100 each bumper. How big of a pile did everything you took out make? I'd have to leave my seats and everything in my apartment haha.

SHE'S BACK!!!!!!

I got it back today and it's SWEET!!!! It turned out really well. I got the center console and passenger seat back in tonight, but I'll didn't take any pics. I'll get some up tomorrow. My Seat Glovers came in yesterday also, so I can put the covers on with the seat OUT of the Jeep, so much easier. Finally, my Or-Fab tire carrier came in yesterday also, so there's the weekend project as well as putting the Jeep back together.

One thing I did change, was I ran my CB Coax up the roll cage under the padding as opposed to along the floorboards. Cleaned it up well, now it's only the stock wire loom on each side that shows.
