Linex questions?
Hope to Linex my 2 dr in July, and have many questions? Did you put you trim pieces back in? Did you put the rear seat beats back in(2 door), did you remove the sound deading material? What about in the joints?
What to do? I will have around a $1,000 to use in July. I want to Linex($500) and the rest towards rims or gears.

I removed all seats (4dr) removed the sound deadning material (except the rear as all i had was a screwdriver) Sanded it all down, Cleaned it up with acetone. removed the side trim peices and masked off everything else
also i used rustoleum bed liner instead of linex

I did my two door a couple summers ago. I've done a TJ and a JK now. I felt like I needed to put all the plastic trim back afterward because it just didn't look right without it in some places, like the seatbelt motor. Plus I didn't want to put liner on some of the areas under the trim. I kept the rear seatbelts, never know. I would take the time to remove all the sound deadening stuff. I didn't at first and it looked like crap. I eventually went in with a chisel and hammer and took it all out and re-lined those areas. Looked so much better.
I didn't take pics and have since upgraded to a 4dr. There are a bunch on the forum if you do a search.
Are you doing this yourself? If so, prep, prep, prep. Take your time. The lining part is easy. The prep is what's most important and time consuming. Cover everything you don't want liner on because it will find a way to get on it.

Hi,
There are several threads on here about this topic. Here is one showing the same product I used.

When I did it, I reinstalled the back seat when I used it, otherwise it sat in the garage on the floor. The only trim I didn't put back was the two trim pieces in the front foot-wells covering the wiper hose and wiring.

I will be letting a Linex installer spray it in. I have to bring it to him with only the front drivers seat installed. I plan to remove the sound deading material, as I agree, it will look alot better, and I will not be putting the carpet back in since, it a leaking money pit! I guess, I am just trying to deciede whether or not to put the rear seat belts back in along with the rear two corner pieces that cover them. Should be a no brainer, since I have not had the back seat in since i got it a year ago!
