Not in a Jeep. I had a Lock Rite in an old pickup. It was a smallish axle and did fine. I don't know if the design has changed, but that wratcheting sound it can make when turning often got questions. People always seemed to think I had something broke. I thought it was kind of funny. It was sturdy and reliable, so I didn't care.

For about $100 more, Powertrax also makes a locker called a no-slip, it is suppose to work like the lock-right but without all the noise when turning.

Problem with the no slip is it requires an expert to install. The Aussie can be installed by a home mechanic.

The no slip is made by Powertrax (Richmond) just like the LockRight and both are"lunch box" lockers and don't require an expert to install. I've been wondering how the No-Slip would work in my rear D44 (30-spline).

Blue, I was wondering the same thing. I sent this e-mail to powertrax and this was their reply.

I'm interested in the No slip traction system. I'm currently running a Dana 44 rear open diff on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler JK. I have also re geared to 4.88s. Does the re gearing make a difference? and is it available for this set up? If so could you provide me with a part #

Thanks
Mark

Sorry no unit availably as the 2007+ model differentials are different than the previous years. The gear ratio would effect the locker installation.

I think their PR people don't get it when it comes to the D44s in the jk. I think the 32 spline axle in the Rubicon fries their mind. However, they come with a selectable and the No Slip isn't even needed for it. The no Rubi have the 30 spline axles and they don't get understand that.

Why the hell would the gear ratio have anything to do with a lunch box type locker?

Richmond Gear needs to get their crap tother.
