Default Locker front or rear?

If you only had the budget to do one locker install, which would you do first and why? Front first, or rear first? And which locker?

Rear, with a Detroit locker. Then, front, with a Detroit locker.

All the weight of the vehicle, on 9 out of 10 obstacles, is resting on the rear wheels. With the rear having more traction, there is more push forward.

Rear and selectable... ARB is generally considered to be "best" selectable, but you could try to get a stock rubi locker, an OX, or Auburn Ected also...

Thx. I was thinking rear selectable also and I will see lots of snow in the NE. But let me play devil's advocate. If I go with front, wouldn't that be better for climbing over obstacles vs. "pushing" up an obstacle?

I would go with a selectable locker too. Currently i'm running OX front and back I put the rear in first then I put the front in later.

I used to run my YJ with a limited slip in the back and an ARB up front. Frankly, it worked very well. However, if you have open diffs in the back I would do that first.

I was thinking Aussie or Detroit in front and selectable in rear. I don't want to invest too much in the D30. Will an auto lock in front not work well in snow in 4WD?? Is it dangerous?

I would lock the rear first. A selectable, if you can afford it, would be nice.

Yep! I'm leaning to selectable in rear. Looks like ARB is the fave. Where do you mount the compressor?

If I remember right, WOL put it under the hood of his newer JK, Lil-Nemo. I think there is a bracket to mount it. May want to do a search though.
