Default lockers

Ok I was hoping someone could fill me in on lockers. I became very aware of not having them today when I was stuck in the mud and only 1 side spun. Do I need front and rear? Are they really much help or should a guy just not worry about it? I'm new to having a 4wd so any info is helpful. Also what brands are out there all I cab find is northridge4x4 700 dolllar or so " air" lockers I think they were called

If you are going to do any real serious 4 wheeling, you will probably want lockers. There are several different kinds out there, from @ $250 up to @ $800, depending on what type of setup you want. The cheapest are referred to as "lunch box" lockers, and replace the "spider gears" inside your factory differential. The more expensive systems are cable, electrical, or air actuated. There are various benefits to each kind. There are also a lot of different manufacturers: Detroit, Eaton, Auburn, Lock Rite, Aussie Locker, ARB, OX, and probably a few more that I am forgetting. Since the JKs are pretty new, all of the different types may not be available for both the front and rear, but you can have different types in each end. Whether you want to go with one or 2 again depends on the type of wheeling you are going to do. Which end to start with will vary with everyone's opinion. I would recommend doing some research and making the decision after you gain some knowledge. And yes, they make a BIG difference. Good luck.

Just call around and ask for pricing and yes, you need to know that you have a 30 in the front and either a 35 or 44 in the rear.
Just FYI, lockers will increase the chances of breaking axle shafts. Search and read grasshopper.
