lockers
ok im looking into tossing an aussie type locker in my 07's dana 30. now are these currently being made or still in the R&D phase? also since im overseas im concerned with longevity has anyone had problems with the dana 30 blowing its guts out from a lunchbox locker and 35" tire combo.
one more are their alloy shafts running around for the dana 3o yet, and is the hub nut still the standard 36mm jeep size?
- thanks

Haven't heard of any failures on the JK yet, but I have heard of MANY lunchbox lockers failing in other rigs under the right conditions.
IMO, if you're tearing into the axle, I'd just go all the way the first time and be done with it. I'm definitely going to the Eaton E-Locker for the front and a Detroit in the rear. They are bomb-proof, from what I've seen.
Yes, they do make Chromoly shafts for the front. AlloyUSA and Superior both make them. There's a few wheelers in the club I'm in running Detroit in the D30 with OEM shafts and 35s, no breakages. It's come down to driver and how they wheel, IMO.

The lunch box lockers fit inside the open carrier. Have you seen how small these are. IMHO, forget it.
A detroit is not much more difficult to install, and not much more money.
Do it right the first time.
