Default Which Lockers

So ive narrowed it down between the OX and ARB lockers. dont know which do go with but this is my thinking thus far.

OX is easier to install, locks manually and costs allot less

ARB way more expensive, but i get the benefit of on board air

so for those of you that have either of these what do you think i should go with? most likely ill be going with front and rear.

also i know i have to use the ox cover with the ox locker but do i have to use the ARB covers with their lockers or could i use a solid or riddler cover?

I had it down to these two choices as well, but I'm not sure how you figure that the OX is that much cheaper... maybe a little bit if you don't already have the compressor...

I really like the idea of the OX for its simplicity, and it looks like really solid stuff. However, I have heard some accounts that the cable mechanism on the OX requires lots of tweaking to keep it properly tensioned and working smoothly. Not sure how much weight to give this -- I've also heard plenty of accounts where people say they work fine. OX themselves recently released a pneumatic actuator retrofit of some kind, which might be a clue that they have problems with the cable systems... who knows...

A minor secondary downside to the OX was that it seems less common... not necessarily a bad thing, but it may make it harder to find parts and people who know them well.

I decided to go with the ARB because it's tried and true (installed on way more rigs worldwide) and because I started convincing myself that the on-board high volume compressor would not be bad to replace my little red 12v one that I carried in the trunk.

So far, I'm quite happy with the setup, but I've never run the OX's so I can't provide a direct comparison. Good luck with your search....

Off of personal experience with the OX locker....I'll never use them. We ordered and installed one on a YJ...the Jeep was street drivin for less than 200 miles then when needing to use the locker it would not lock in. Turns out they shipped a faulty cable. That's fine, I understand that....but then they refuse to back there product and my fabricator had to eat the cost of a new cable, nearly $200...not cool in my book. But this is just personal experience, just throwing it out there

They are under new management and it seems like these guys really care about their product. That being said, I run an ARB.

ARB! OX is finiky. like you said you get onboard air with ARB and IF you get a line cut, trail fix for tube is way easier that cable. Just my opinion.

Much as I like the idea of a mechanical locker I've heard of too many problems with the OX, getting it into adjustment and keeping it there. Apparently the range of adjustment is critical and cables stretch.

I'd go with ARB's as seems to be the consensus.
