Default Locking hood latch

I have recently installed the locking hood latch that goes in behind the grill. After installation and adjusting it 10 times, I still can't get it to keep the hood from being opened. So I returned it. Then I bought the double locking tie downs. after putting them on and off 4 times each, and adjusting them, they are still to tight and pull the hood down to tight to the fender tops as to where the 2 are smashed together, metal to metal. So I returned that.
Is there a quality hood locking devise out on the market ???? The ones I purchased and returned are of poor design.

I had no problems with the function of the two Mopar hood locks, keyed to the ignition keys.
I did substitute bolts with neoprene insert castellated nuts, as I didn't have a rivet tool big enough for the supplied rivets.

Were they Rugged Ridge? I have had tons of problems with their products. Quadratec has some really good customer service though. I had their hood locks and mirror re locator and both were garbage. I had the hood lock on my JK and they didn't work. My wife also has a JK and I got a lock for hers and that didn't work. I had Quadratec replace them over and over. I am interested in the Tuffy one though.

I have the mopar hood lock. I have had no problems at all. The biggest selling point for me to get it over any of the other cheaper priced ones was the fact that it is "programmed" to your factory key. Also just based on the pics of the other ones, they did not look strong at all, but that is just my opinion. I highly recommend it!

Default Hood lock

Get the mopar 'keyed' hood lock. Was pricey (I think $100) but bolted right up and keyed well. Be very careful when doing the keying procedure. If you don't have the key in the right depth the first time, it won't key correctly and then your screwed. It's so nice to have it keyed to the original. Sturdy, well built and no adjusting. With all the money most of us have under the hood, it's a great investment.

I will look into the Mopar locks. I have always been a quality over price guy. Kind of a," you get what you pay for" thing sometimes !
