Default LoD question

Anyone happen to know what the logo badging on LoD products (specifically F/R bumpers) is made of and whether or not it can be easily removed? Reason I ask is that I haven't seen them in person (pics only) and it appears that the logo is a separate/raised metal badge, but can't tell and if it is, can't tell how it's fastened. I like the design of LoD's products, but can't stand logos and to make matters worse, the LoD logos appear to be freakishly large. With any luck, it's just a sticker that can be peeled off. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to be the one to tell you, the logo is a seperate piece that is riveted on. At least on my front bumper and rock rails that is how they are, I can't speak for the rear bumper.

Thank you sir. That's what I needed to know.

Now just need to call LoD and see if they'll send me a set without the badging.

Give Chris a call, i don't know if they will omit the logo for you or not? I love the bumper and it wouldn't be a show stopper for me. Just drill out the rivets and plug the holes or have them welded up. Krylon semi-flat black is a perfect match for the LoD "textured" finish.

Will do. Thanks for the contact info.

You actually just brought up another question in regards to the choice of finishes. I see on their website that they offer "Matte Black Coating" and "Texture Semi-Gloss Black". Does this mean matte is powder coated and the other is regular paint? Also, I assume the matte black is smooth, but is the texture like a heavy crinkle finish like found on many industrial machinery?

They are both powder coated! But for touch up the Krylon semi-flat matches the textured finish perfect. Textured finish has a little shine to it and matches the factory plastic really well. I do not know about the flat finish.

Thanks RR. The lighting in your picture helped visualize the finish a lot. Much better than pics on LoD's website.

I have the LOD stubby and was thinking of drilling the rivets out and taking mine off too. I live in Minnesota and the area around the logo and the logo itself are rusting pretty heavily (6 months old). The guys at LOD recommended to me to use Duplicolor bed-liner paint as the perfect match to their textured finish. What would you use to patch the holes after drilling out the logo? Don't get me wrong though, I love this bumper and the customer service is awsome with LOD.

I haven't given it much thought, probably have them welded up if I was going to do it. Im going to drill out the rivets, remove the logo and sand and repaint it and reinstall with some small bolts (button head) . That way I can easily remove and paint anytime I want! I may paint it to match the anodized fairlead that came with my Superwinch
