Default LoD Rear Bumper question

Hello all before I try to get a hold of someone from LoD I thought I might post a question to see if anyone knows the answer. I just had my rear bumper installed LoD full width with gen 4 tire arm on the drivers side top there are 4 oval holes see pics I can not find anything in the directions or pics online that show what they might be for any clues ????
Thanks

Those look like the mount holes for the manual latch for the tire swing.

Yeah I was just going to re post,,,, looking at the LoD site I see that the other style and the latch location, I really would think since these were built to order (I think) my door link option would have have a bumper without holes after all it was a very expensive bumper

Yeah, definitely for the manual latch. I'd keep it. If you wheel your Jeep, eventually you'll back into something and bend the crap out of your tailgate. Then you can switch to the manual latch so it doesn't happen again.

I have a rear linked bumper in the crate in my garage. I wonder if it has those holes. None of the other three linked bumpers of theirs I have had before had those holes.

My gen 4 door linked stubby bumper I just received last Thursday has the same holes. It appears as though they use the same bumper for both linked/non linked tire carriers.

Correct, that bumper is universal door and bumper linked.
