if i go with a set of long arms 3 or 4 inch lift do i NEED drive shafts?

since you have a 6 speed and an unlimited you might can get away without new ones for a while. They will eventually need to be changed though.

Long arm or short arm is not the problem. The reason for the drive shafts is the lift height not the length of the control arms.

I went LA this week... wow, the road ride is off-the-hook good. Much better than stock. I burned the money for the LA... and I'll never look back. Who am I fooling? My driving is maybe only 2% off-road.. If that

I went with new front and rear driveshafts as well. I'll never worry about that as well. If money is not a supreme issue, then do it now. You won't be satisfied with doing it half-assed.
