Default Looking for advice

I'm considering buying the 2014 Wrangler Dragon Edition as a few retailers still have some available in my area. It seems to only come with automatic doors and a hard top, and I want it to have manual half doors and a soft top. Is it possible to purchase the Dragon edition with these or do I have to buy them separate? If I do have to buy them separate, is it possible to install them on this edition?

I'm sure you can order the dual top group so you can get the soft top. For the half doors I would just ask the dealer but I'm sure they'll mark it up especially if you want them painted AND also have the dragon decal on it. Otherwise you can just buy a set of primed (no paint) MOPAR half doors from places like Quadratec.

I'm no expert in the dragon edition, but I will say this. At this point, if you are still finding a Dragon Edition on a dealer lot my guess is they WANT to move it. It seems like you should be able to get a pretty good deal on it. As far as it coming with half doors, I have my doubts that you'll find one like that. You could always buy one with full doors and a hard top, take the dragon sticker off, sell the doors and hard top, and buy half doors and a soft top and maybe have a little money left over for another mod. I don't have a clue about manual being offered in the DE, that would obviously be the hardest of your three wishes to do aftermarket.

Well, I was looking at it because I love Wranglers and I like dragons, so having them both together was awesome.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I was looking at the DE because it has two of my favorite things in it (Wrangler and Dragons), but if I'm going to have to pay extra for the soft top and half doors (which I don't mind) as well as paying even more to have the dragon decal repainted on the half doors, I think I'll look at another model. If I really want a dragon decal on my Wrangler, I'll just get a different model that comes with the soft top and half doors and take it to a decal shop or something.

That sounds like a cheaper option.

Yeah. Speaking of which, I currently drive a 2 door Wrangler, soft top w/half doors. What models of the Wrangler Unlimited come with the soft top and half doors? I'm planning on getting one of the 4 doors models of Wrangler because I need the extra room, but I don't want to pay even more to buy new doors.

I don't think you can order them anymore, you can only find what was built on lots. That said, all the JK models can run half doors if you purchase them - same with the soft top. Look at the options and see if you can get more jeep with a different model for the same money and add a decal later.

Get the Jeep you want. You'll have no problem spending plenty of money later. I think I saw a guy shell out $7k for OEM half-doors for a JKU. Not to mention the soft door tops, $1600? Plus a soft top. Another $1500? Don't settle on the dragon unless you HAVE TO have that one. Order from the factory. Get what you want and put half that extra expense into mods. A good deal can still break the bank. And trust me, you won't need any help with that.
