Looking for exhaust/intake info...
So, Im looking to up the pep of the jeep. I really want to keep the exhaust as close to as quiet as stock as possible, while still getting some performance gains. What exhaust would you guys suggest that would still be fairly quiet but give some noticeable oomph in the ole seat of the pants?
Also, I know cai are fairly controversial, but what are most guys running with the best results? Not looking for a snorkel or anything, just a cai.
Lastly, I plan to run these with the Superchips Flashpaq. I shouldnt have any issues there should I?
Im just looking to squeeze as much as possible outta the 3.8 without really going full on into headers, supercharger etc.

Hope this helps.
CAI's are probably all the same performance wise, although combined with the flashpaq and a cat back system of your choice it might give you a few more ponies, it'll definitley sound meaner thats for sure. Have a look at the Banks Ram Air system, they look pretty good under the hood, thinking of getting one myself.
Any non-v8 should be kept quiet, especially if the cam isn't lopey, imo. A loud v6 w/o a cam sounds lame, like a Honda. Yes, they can sound throaty at idle, but when you hit the gas it sounds like a Honda every time.
Don't waste money on a dual pipe system. You get more flow through a single pipe with a slightly larger diameter than the stock diameter. I forget the math behind it but with two pipes, you have twice the surface metal that the exhaust must pass through which equals twice the resistance, making the slight increase in volume of a single pipe system much more efficient. And, two pipes means twice the weight. Further, a single pipe system equalizes pressure much much better than an h pipe. But that's if you're going to use headers.

Mine sounded great with a Banks Ram Air (borrowed to try it out) and an MBRP catback bolted on. Mind you it sounded nothing like a v8 would but it doesnt sound ricey at all either, if that had been the case I would have ripped the parts off and gotten rid of them asap. To the OP do your homework when buying an exhaust, IMO stay away from dual exits and use the thread on here with the video/sound clips of the different exhaust systems so you can find something quiet enough for you that doesnt like a pissed off honda civic.
