Default Looking to get a lift and wheels!!!!

I have a 2007, 4dr Jeep Rubicon. I’m going to invest in a lift and some wheels. My Jeep is a weekend vehicle. I will be doing some 4 wheeling with the family (to include camping trips). I am not looking to go too crazy when it comes to 4wheeling (i.e. putting the jeep underwater, major rock crawling, etc…)

I am contemplating either going with 33” or 35” also either with a budget boost or a 2 1/2” - 3” lift.

If I go with a budget boost will I be able to use 35” without rubbing during turns or do I need to go with a 2 1/2” – 3” lift?

If I do go with a budget boost should it come with longer shocks?

Sorry if these questions sound dumb but I am clueless when it comes to vehicles.

In the 4wheelparts.com mag/catalog I received in the mail 33's need at least a 2in lift, 35's need a 3"-3.5" lift and bigger of corse need a higher lift. Alot of cool stuff is in that book. Hope this helps you out some.

There is nothing wrong with your questions, provided you searched around a little and gathered up some of the good free info available. It doesn't hurt to ask" this is what I want to do, so will this work?"

I have kind of gotten to that point myself. Right now I have a stock '08 Rubi, I'm going to put the Shrockworks midwith and the Warn 9.5 Ti on it. The most tire I plan to put on it is a 33. So I want to regain what the winch and bumper will take and gain just a smidge of height over what I have now, with a minimum of cost and lift related problems.

So ATM I'm looking closely at the RC 2.5, I just haven't decided, with or without their shocks. So I'll piggie back on your thread, cause it makes everyone feel better when their peers tell them they are going about things correctly. or not.

I agree with you guys about doing research, I have just read some post where guys have a budget boost on 35"

My biggest problem is to see if I want a - Budget boost with 33"
or if I want a 3" lift with 35"

To piggyback just a little bit more...I'm with yetibear in not sure to go with new shocks along with a BB. Regardless of RC, Teraflex, etc...does it make sense to go with shocks if I will be doing some offroad, but not much in the big picture...it probably won't be extreme either. I won't be adding a new bumber...just going to add 33's. What do I lose in the day to day driving by not going with new shocks. Thanks again for any input!

I assume that the wheels should be 18x9?

OME lift sounds like it might be what you want throw some 33's on and your garanted a good lift with minimal cost.

I just finally finished my mods (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/its-finally-my-turn-43291/) after doing a bunch of research. I was looking to maintain a decent ride while still gaining some clearance and looking a little meaner. I couldn't be happier with the OME 2" and the Toyo Open Country M/T's at just over 33 inches. The ride is almost identical to what it was before and the tires ride just as smooth (maybe even a little quieter actually) as the 32" BFG's that came on the Rubicon.

I read a lot of threads with people riding on these tires and the lift (sometimes just one of the two) and almost everyone seemed to rave about them. After that bumpers and a lot of other things are a little more up to personal preference. There's a pile of information on this site that will help you along the way.

Jkrana, your setting don't allow me to PM you back. Could you please change your settings or PM me your email address? I have some information about the wheels you are interested in.
