Default Gibson twin tips

I have the gibson with two polished tips that come out the rear.

Came on my 2008 unlimited.

Review

Plus
Everyone comments on how good it sounds, going as far as whats under the hood.
Around town and offroad the sound is just right.
Looks real good also

Minus
Just a bit loud in the jeep, with top on and windows up its good except long hyway trips can become anoying with the slight drone at low RPM under load.

I have considered finding something I can add midway in the system to slightly tone it down, not sure what to use?

if you run like running noisy mud tires then it no issue at all

If you do any "real" off-roading I'd steer clear of the twin tip Gibson exhuast. I've seen a few people smash the ehuast tips on the trail.

I have a Flowmaster 40 series, sounds good when your on the throttle, but alot of drone the rest of the time. And yes do not get rear tips if you off road. They will be the first to go. I heard alot of good stuff about MBRP from friends might try them once i get tired of drone.

Oh I get over 17 mpg in town with the muffler and K&N.

I went with Banks too. Love the sound even with the top off.

Had several flowmasters, magnaflow, and MBRP, couldn't stand any one of them. All sound like a punked out honda civic. ( ricey ) each lasted only about a week...until the next one got here.

Finially I got a "Walker - quiet flow 3" This is the one. now i'm not embarassed to drive down the street. it's NOT Ricey at all. nice mellow, deep, aggressive sound. Of the 6 mufflers i've tried this is the closest to a V8 sound.

I have the muffler under the drivers seat and straight out the back with a high clearance kit from SWAG.

I still have a magnaflow and a flowmaster 40 if you would like to try them. still in brand-new condition.

Talking

Go for a Gale Banks Cat Back! Have had them on overything I've owned outside the wife's mini-van. If they made one for it, would have it on that to. These guys spend more in R+D that all other combined bar none. As for the sound, it's all in the listener but wouldn't base a decision on that before performance. If I recall, I don't think rocks have ears! Good luck with your search.

I have the black MBRP on my list of MODS.

There was one cat back system (can't remember name so won't even take a stab in case I'm wrong) that was cracking - a well known manufacturer. Do a search and make sure you don't buy that one.
