It is bolted from below.....If you want to get tricky, you could drill a separate hole below the light mount and run your cables through the bar down to the bumper and drill another hole int he base of the bumper and route the cables down through the cavity and up under the grill for a seamless installation (with grommets of course).

But yeah, it is a separate piece but really finishes the look.
