Default Looking for toolbox anchoring ideas.

I know lots of you have built them, bought them, or rigged them. Ive read the threads. Now its my turn to try to figure out how to anchor a tool box to the floor of the cargo area. I don't want to use straps, bungees, clips, or chains. I want a way to bolt it directly to the floor but still be able to take it out fairly easily. BUT, bolting it down means you need a hand on each side of the floor turning/holding the hardware and that aint easy! So, does anyone know of some type of lever or latch that would work. I would be fine with bolting down something to anchor to, if it isn't too cumbersome.
Any thoughts, ideas, pictures or even smart comments are welcome.

I've bolted a lock box to the rear seatbelt bolts. Simple to undo if I need to throw the rear seat on

google bedbolts. It is a bolt within a bolt. You can replace the eye bolt with a regular bolt.

Here's the locking steel box I bolted to the trunk floor 3 years ago. It's big enough to securely hold plenty of tools and trail gear, and small enough so I can continue to open and use the stock rear cubby. Black powder-coated 37lb steel box cost $120 + $25 shipping from Northern Tool. The box has handles on both sides, so great for securing other gear around the box with bungee cords.

Positioning the box on the trunk floor needs to be thought out - mine is set back in the trunk so can continue to use the stock cubby, box is positioned 6" inches forward of the rear seats so box lid leans back far enough to stay open and rests on the rear seat backs, and box is positioned slightly left of center so the bolts avoid the suspension springs and rear axle.

I drilled four 1/4 inch holes in the box corners and through the JK's floor, pushed 4" long domed-top Carriage Bolts with washers up from the JK's underside through the trunk floor into the toolbox, secured with washers and nuts on the inside on the box.

To prevent rattling the box comes with a rubber pad on the inside floor, and added a plastic-coated padlock.

agreed, found out the hard way, I now leave the drain plug out, and leave gear in cubby wrapped in a double black trash bag.

Not sure how many tools you are looking to carry but Craftsman has a tool box that fits perfectly in the rear cubby hole under the mat. I have a breaker bar, wrench set, socket set, pliers, 1/2 drive ratchet and gloves in it. They sell them at Sears. It's a long, rectangular, black plastic box with a handle.

Looks like you fabricated a bracket to mount the box to. This is something I might consider doing, but I have an Unlimited, and I plan to keep my back seat.

Thanks! This is perfect!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to replace the eye bolt with a bolted knob or something easy to remove.

I read your write up. Very secure, but not easy to remove, and if you do, the bolts will be sticking up.

Thanks, but I am needing something large for a subwoofer, recovery gear, compressor...

Thanks all for the suggestions, but those bedbolts are the ticket!!!
