Default loose front shocks?

I had a set of King 2.5 OEM shocks w ext res installed last week. Noticed some rubbing and upon inspection the front shocked rotate easily by hand. Are they too loose? I tried to tighten them up but the nut on top of shock tower seems tight and doesnt tighten anymore? any suggestions??

I believe so. Rubber between shock and shock tower. And rubber then washer on top of shock tower capped w nylon locker nut. I actually had a shop install since I had King bumpstops also done. Just trying to save the trip/time back to the shop if it's a matter of tighten nut.

It should be tight enough to slightly compress the rubber pieces. Not CRUSH them beyond recognition. That said, properly tightened shocks should twist with a fair amount of effort, but not twist easily or rattle. You could take the nut off the top and add a few washers to take up the slack. Maybe a flat washer and a lock washer.

nope. They never are. Some good, some bad, some should not be open for business. Haha. Not a hard fix though.
