Default Loosening control arms

When installing a lift- why is it necessary to loosen the control arms? I did this with my BB spacers but not with my speedbumps. I'm eventually moving up to actual coils rather than spacers. So what's the word?

They are torqued at a specific height, when you lift it and don't loosen and retorque the the suspension components they will bind prematurely. Leading to possible early failure of the bushings.

Essentially resetting the suspension for the new ride height and suspension angles.

Ah- I knew there was a reason. Just wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying.
