Based on the description of what you intend to do (only go up one size to 33" tires) and only light to moderate 4-wheelin', the most cost-effective thing would be to just go with the Teraflex leveling kit; only $130.

First, you're minimizing the stock parts that are being replaced (only front sway bar connects). This is an issue for purposes of warranty; they won't cover what you've swapped out and the dealer is less likely to claim "not covered" with break-downs that are "on the bubble"; e.g., a universal joint. As your JK is new, you don't want warranty hassles.

Second, the leveling kit will still give you adequate lift if you put a new bumper and winch on. I did the Teraflex leveling kit the same weekend I added a Warn Elite bumper and 9.5 cti winch, and the lift on the front was damn near 2" and 1" on the rear, bringing it to level status.

After installation, I needed no adjustments to the steering wheel centering or anything else.

My 2 cents.

There are a few differences.. As someone mentioned there is the rear trackbar bracket but the biggest difference imo is progressive rate springs (AEV) vs linear (TF). I would also highly recommend RockKrawler 2.5 stock mod, which is what I run. For 900 you get progressive springs and bilsteins similar to the AEV kit but additionally you get a beefier front track bar and sway bar disconnects.

i know ive heard that the stock jk springs are superior to many aftermarket ones thats why i wanted to keep them , unless you have a rubi then you would probably want aftermarket shocks the teraflex shocks are a big improvement . but to answer your questioni would rather have the teraflex bb than the skyjacker kit with springs

I started off thinking that I'd just get the 2inch AEV BB now and pick up some shocks down the road to increase the ride quality... Then after the first responses it seems like the TF BB was the way to go so I figured I'd commit the money and get the kit with new shocks. Now it seems like I should either go with the TF 1inch leveling kit or commit fully and get a complete lift kit. Still on the fence as to which path I should go down. I appreciate everyones input and help! all around

I bought the Skyjacker 3.5" and totally regret it. It was cheap and I certainly got what I paid for. I will be replacing it this year with a EVO long-arm. Not going to do coil-overs yet but it's an option for the future. I like how you can build upon the EVO suspension.

I wish I had done more research before I bought the lift. I won't even sell the Skyjacker once I uninstall it, it is worth that little to me.

I have one Jeep with a Teraflex lift and one with the AEV and IMO the AEV is better all around granted they are on differant types of Jeeps but ride is better than factory in my JK with the AEV lift. I also think the Bilsten shocks are better than those that come with the TF lift I'm ready to put the third set on in 10 years.
Bytheway every one I know that has done a BB has gone and done a full Lift kit on their vehicle. Spend your money once and get the best product you can.
