LOUD POP while going down highway.
So I was driving today down the interstate and I just casually noticed that my temp gauge was a little higher then normal. Not in the red but just not where it sits on a daily basis. About 15 minutes later I hear a loud pop...almost like I blew out a tire. I pulled over to inspect and couldn't find anything wrong. I jumped back in the jeep and as soon as I started it I saw the temp gauge going back down to where it normally sits.
So my first initial thought is that does anything think that my thermostat may have been stuck and due to built up pressure it popped it open and that's why the temp gauge fluctuated?
Any thoughts?
Just FYI. I also put on my steering stabilizer relocation bracket the other day and had to remove the track bar on one end. Do you think this might have something to do with it and I'm just being overly paranoid?
I did drive about 40 miles after this happened and didn't have any issues.

Have gotten a few loud pops and bangs before driving at fast speeds, turns out for me it was just rocks stuck in my tires. Could be just that if you have aggressive lugs on your tires. I wouldn't think a thermostat or anything would have anything to do with it. Sometimes my jeep runs hotter than normal, especially here where it's been in the 100s lately

That's what I'm hoping. And yes I have m/t tires with only 1500 miles on them so the tread is pretty deep and easy to grab rocks.
