Low-cost / Free mods that should be done?
I am running 285/75/16 Duratracs with no rubbing now after the puck install!!! I replaced my stock shock and springs with Rubi shocks and springs that were given to me. Added about 2" of lift over my stock set-up

I did the Header Latch Mod.. shortening them so the visors don't need to be removed.. meh..
It's okay.
I chose to remove mine from the header bar (Trektop Nx) and hit them on the 4" bench top belt sander. Took all of two minute including the time to paint the bare metal. One word of caution, particular to the Trektop, but I suspect the same on the OE top.. there are metal backing plates used to hold the header latches from pulling through the plastic header bar.. If you remove both screws at the same time, the backing plate will move out of alignment. Be prepared to realign it or, remove one screw, loosen the second and then reinstall the first to secure the backing plate..

I made this cargo cover over the weekend for about $70. For me it solves a couple of issues. It hides my sub and amp, especially when I'm topless. It's a place to stash stuff when topless, like when out buying things and making multiple stops. It's not a security deck, not lockable or fastened down, but it keeps stuff hidden. It also creates the flat surface that I lost when I put my sub in there to stow my freedom panels on. It also leaves me some cargo underneith when the freedom panels are off. I made it hinged so half folds back to allow me to still use a good portion of the cargo area for taller items. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The pics aren't great, took them in a bit of a hurry this morning.
I used:
3/4" MDF
2x2's
Black HD hinges from Home Depot
Cabinet hinges for the two front legs from the Depot
Auto Carpet from Auto Zone
a $1 metal plate from Home Depot for middle support to prevent sagging with a load on top
tie down anchors from Lowes
Spray adhesive
screws

Grwat mod -- easy and functional. Should have been this way from factory.
