Low-cost / Free mods that should be done?
#1651
I finally did the grill insert mod this weekend. I cut up several 3'-long strips of plastic gutter guard from Lowe's. Painted those with 3 coats of Rustoleum self-priming glossy black. Removed the adhesive from 31 zip-tie blocks with Goo-Gone, sanded them and the grill interior, and then Loctited them in place. Finally, I zip-tied the guards down and voila - a factory-looking insert for about $30 in materials!
I think I may do the blinker mod on the running lights next...

I did mine a while back, don't think it made much of a difference. The stock infinities are pretty weak, think I'm going to pull them out and pick up the Kickers from crutchfield and throw some baffles or dynamat in the enclousures.

Polyfill works great and no need for expensive sound deadeners behind the speakers. Home Depot sells a one sided foam insulation that you can cut multiple strips with scissors and stick above speakers. This combination produces a 100% improvement to the plastic speaker bar from factory.
