Default Low Oil Pressure During Steep Climb

When doing very steep climbs, my oil light comes on and the engine runs rough. Everything goes back to normal when I level out. My oil level is good. Is there a remedy for this? 3.6L

Damn that is steep; better pull a line to keep from falling over backward ()... Well, I could tell where my local Jeep dlr puts in 6 qts when changing.. When I asked the tech his reply was to address inclines and off camber running situations.

Jeesh man. i mean all the oil in the pan is sitting at the very back/bottom in that position. sit there too long and i'd presume you're starving the pickup tube a bit??

Yep resharp.. and that is why the Jeep dealer I use puts in 6 qts.. For the OP..BTW I have experience the low Oil pressure code on an incline - would not rev over 2500 rpm. and when I checked oil level on the 115k miles 3.6 .It was 2 quarts low.. no surprise to me being low, never changed the PCV and run a catch can inlieu of changing the PCV. Oil use is approx quart at 2-2.5K .. I'm not concerned with this mileage..

I'm glad you said this Jay. I have changed my PCV before, but I have also encountered a long trip where I threw a cam code that had been resolved and I was low on oil, which gave good reason for the code as it had been a long time. I thought that it was absurdly low, but I'm always surprised what is in my catch can when I check it. With 120k miles on mine, I think I'm just getting to a point I need to keep closer eye on the oil level. a quart even 2500 miles seems like a lot.....but maybe that is just not that absurd.

Thanks re.. Normal change is 5 - 6 k; For all on the forum, years ago Chrysler engineers and today Hy engineers will not authorize warranty repairs/coverage (disassemble or replace the engine) unless the oil consumption is 1 qt at or less the 1,000 miles. HY has been replacing many; the company vehicle provided to me uses 1 qt at 918 miles but being a fleet vehicle HY declined any repairs.. Guess what.. I kept a funnel and a 5 qt jug of the cheapest base oil in the vehicle. It had 118,000 miles when turned in- still running.. Funny thing is the plugs looked fine, the Cats were operating fine, did not smoke.. so where was the oil going is the mystery. The 13 JKU with 115k is running fine no CELs or codes passes Pa emission inspections.

Doesn’t excess oil get turned to foam by the crankshaft? Mine doesn’t consume oil. I’m looking for a different remedy.

WOW!!! Never in a million years would attempt that with my Wrangler! What is keeping it from flipping over backwards? I couldn't even climb that with ropes / rock gear.
