Default Lower Control Arms

Wanted to throw out a question to see if anyone has done this. I am currently running a 4.5" lift with a newly installed Dynatrac Unlimited Prorock 44. This is the housing with the extra built in caster. Can I run my factory control arms or do I need to get adjustable ones?

Do you have any idea what the castor and pinion angle is now ? Probably good idea to get it checked and then you'll know.
I'm running the G2 core 44 with castor correction, 3 1/2" lift my castor is 5.6 but I have adj CA's

From my understanding you need at least one set of arms.

You should probably specify, but I'm guessing you had a 4.5" lift with something like the AEV brackets, and now have the new axle and are wondering if you new new control arms, assuming you're taking off those brackets? Otherwise idk how you had a 4.5" lift on stock arms, seems like castor would have been shit.

You are correct, I did have the AEV 4.5" with the drop brackets. Northridge said that I can remove the drop brackets and run the stock arms with this 44. With the brackets and the stock 44 everything was fine. With the drop brackets removed and the new unlimited 44 in place she wanders all over the place. I have checked the toe in and it is set at 1/8 in which I good? It just feels weird its hard to explain, it feels like I am always correcting the steering a little as she drives down the road. I have ordered new Synergy Adjustable lower control arms. I want to figure it out as best as I can before I take it to the shop up here to check the caster. They want to charge me $499 to do a front alignment.

That is insane! Just a front alignment should be under $100. Even if it is a complicated 8 arm lift, it should be under $300.

I agree with you guys. I live in the Far North of Canada and they like to grab you by the curly ones anytime you want anything done. Shop rate up here is $185 an hour. This does not include the shop fees or if they have to hook anything up (code readers or such). This is why I would like to figure out a way to check the castor myself. I have done everything else on my Jeep, I have never checked castor before so I want to make sure I do it right. I have other shops in town but I want to be able to get it computer alignment done so I know that it is all good.

In the JK-Writeups area, there is a sticky thread at the top labeled "Write-up Index". In that index, you can find a link to a Basic DIY Frontend Alignment in both the suspension & steering section and the troubleshooting section. Just follow the links.

Not the best way to measure the true caster, but should get you in the ballpark with a cheap angle finder.
