Default lug nuts

Just bought pro comp 7005 wheels to replace stock 18 inch 2008 Sahara wheels. Can/should I reuse existing lug nuts or should I purchase new nuts as the wheel dealer suggests?

Highly recommend getting some aftermarket ones. Go with the Gorilla keys, gives you some peace of mind when it comes to someone trying to jack your wheels!

I wouldn't run locks on a trail though. Too sketchy. What if you lose the key or it breaks. Then your kinda SOL. Had the last key for my lock nuts on my truck completely bend and it was a huge pain in the ass to end up getting them off

The pro comp and the stock wheels have the same degree of chamfer. I added a set of wheel lock knowing that you can get them off almost as easy as the non-keyed ones. It keeps the honest people honest. I keep my key in the rear storage compartment with the little jack that may never be used.

I have full coverage too, but your idea of them taking 1800 dollars of tires and wheels is very flawed. Are they replacing them with stock wheels and tires? Are they taking their time, these thieves? Are they going to carefully place blocks and stands for your vehicle?

My guess, they are going to royally eff up your vehicle. Just a thought. Not to be a douche, but good luck on your positive theft ideas. ;-)

50 dollars, an extra 10 minutes to rotate tires. Seems ok to me. I rotate mine, on locking lugs even. Peace of mind over dealing with insurance ANY day.

To you I say good day!

You can reuse the existing lug nuts if you want to. You can get the Gorilla or whoever spline style lugnuts in black. I got mine from Discount Tire they were right around $1.00 each.

I like them for a few reasons:
1. anti theft
2. small profile and wont tear your wheel up with socket during install
3. they are BLACK and go with my anti chrome theme

True unless you use a thin wall socket. A standard impact socket is too big.

Those are pretty slick...I'd rather run something like this than 1 locking lug per wheel, those things SUCK IMO.

Slight hijack, I recently went to rotate again (do so every 3K) and broke THREE of the wheel studs on the rear. WTF? Anyone else have this happen???

if you can use the stock lugs id use them. I my self run with one lock nut on each wheel, peice of mind I guess. Keep my locker in my glove box. Hey my thoughts are if somone out there really wants your wheels or what ever else they are going to get it. Most wheel thieves have all the proper tools doesn't matter what you use. Wheel lockers may only slow them down a little thats it.
