Default Making my own 2.5" BB...??

Just out of curiosity how hard could it be to build my own BB???
I have a metal lathe and access to aluminum round stock.
I might have to see a track bar bracket to copy.
What might be some other issues to over come?

You will have to address the sway bars. Create drop brackets for the rear (this would be very simple to do) and add longer disco's for the front.

I wouldn't think it would be worth the time/trouble. BB's are expensive for what they are though.

If I didn't want to spend much on a BB, I'd keep my eyes out for a used one. I'll have my 2" Full traction one for sale soon. Whenever I can get my 4" Superlift installed. Probably a month or so.

I appreciate your concerns with building my own...... BUT
The facts are it might be a little work for some, but to be honest this looks like a piece of cake to build.
As far as the track bar bracket I think I will buy some adjustable track bars.
Never like the brackets.
I'm guessing no one has ever done this before?
If some could please do some measuring for me on some parts I would appreciate it.
As far as the sway bar links I built all of links so far with no issues.

Com'on guys how about some inqenuity and sense of adventure in building your own parts. Just knowing you did yourself and didn't waste 2-300 bucks for some poly spacers has got to be worth something, right?

I'm completely with ya. I just came in from working on finishing my rear bumper/tire carrier.

I'm just not sure how aluminium would hold up in this application, but I'm no engineer. Most I've seen are made of some type of poly composite, but I'm sure that's just because of price and ease of machining.

Go for it.
