Is a manual stronger ? If so why. ?

 

I was told that my manual will be bad for plowing because it has a DRY clutch ????

 

Every plow I have driven has been stick so you should be good.... Plus the snow in your area isn't too bad to plow. (I grew up in Newmarket but live in bc now)

 

I think at one time that was the case. If an auto is properly cooled it's at least as strong. They're even putting auto's in big trucks now, although those are pretty much manuals controlled by the computer.
I do know however that the manual in Xterra's actually lower the towing capacity, mainly because it's too lightweight.

 

You simply can't answer that in a simple yes no fashion, the question is too vague.

What manual and what automatic are you trying to compare?

Certain manuals are notoriously weak as certain autos are known to have problems as well.

 

I thought he was referring to JKs but that's still too vague. The 12+ auto is better than the older years. The manuals in the JKs are plenty strong, and the clutch should be fine too, but I believe that is your weak point. Simple, when you burn it out, replace it with a better unit. Unless you're doing something crazy I can't see destroying an auto or manual just by plowing moderate snow.
