Take the shaft out and drive again and see if it's gone

Not gonna pull the shaft till my new one comes in. If it was in the case then there would be other issues. Idk

sounds exactly like mine did.. I had a tear on the boot and the clamp hit the tranny pan. when I fixed it on the trails I used duct tape and zip ties.
So when the duct tape got loose due to the heat it would hit the tranny pan... making what sounded exactly like that... did you inspect the entire shaft maybe there is some thing that got stuck and is making it click against something....

anyhow... sounds exactly the same so that's all I have..

oh yea,,, installed my new coast 1310 today....
ready to go wheeling again...

PS,,, do you have a lift... I looked at your profile and I think you have a 3.5" lift...???
look for a small area on the tranny pan that is a fresh metal look.. I bet your front boot clamp is slightly hitting the pan... just as it flexes under load... under a good off road flex it will tear and maybe tear the pan in that area..... I have a 2.5" lift and it was enough to do it... so a 3.5" lift surely would...
