Yes there is a seperation issue to look at. Its more of a guideline line required. 25% of tire height should be your target for axle link seperation. The more your seperation the weaker you can design the mounts. The JK has more seperation than needed for the factory tires and adding HD lower brackets compensates for the lower seperation numbers. If you are an inch or two shy of the 25% of tire height it is not a big deal. At the frame side you should be 70-80% of the axle side seperation and you see the relocation brackets throw that number out the window.

Think of that sepration as leverage againts the spinning tire.
