Default MBRP Offroad Cat Back Exhaust Observations

I just had a MBRP cat back exhaust installed on my 2012 JKU. Heard a few sounds clips before I purchased it and researched it here and everyone seemed very happy with it. Given the small size of the muffler I should have expected that it would be loud but wasn't quite ready for how loud. I've owned dual exhausts trucks and we have an F250 diesel so I'm used to loud but....

Now I'm afraid to punch it to get around because all of the noise and some drone is in the 1500 to 3000 RPM range which you get to quickly pulling out into traffic or just getting from 0 to 40 up a hill. I mean I am turning heads and feel like a teenager in a 1995 Honda Civic with a glasspack or something.

I've heard others say that the exhaust will tone down over some time. How soon and how much? Thanks and sorry for sounding like I was complaining. I like the deep sound at idle just not the noise when I punch it or in any over excelerating from 0 to 50. Be interested to here from other MBRP offroad exhaust owners.

I don't know if this helps but I just installed this system on my 2010 JKU and it was loud the first 2 weeks. Way too loud for my taste. Over time it has toned down but still has some drone. I think it has finally settled in. I love the sound but it is too loud at times. It is even noticeable when I am on a handfree call on UCONNECT.

Compared to the first day I installed it, I would say that it is 15% quieter than before.

Its a great system, I love the construction of the stainless version, I can live with the sound for now but I do wish it gave some performance gains tomake up for the noise.

It will tone down into a deep rumble. Took mine about a month to not sound like a riceburner. Just be sure to double check all your clamps. I have the offroad high clearance edition

It was the same with my 2012, it does open up more and after 2 months was sounding better but still too loud for my liking on the highway and still some droning. I am thinking about putting a hushpower resonator on mine.

Yep, it'll quiet down a bit. Don't expect it to be quiet like a Gibson, but mine's been on for about 3 months and I don't notice it in the cab anymore. Either that or I've lost some hearing due to the decibel level of my exhaust system. . . What?

I think I'm going this route too. It's nice sounding at idle, but normal rpms it's too loud/droney for daily use. Normal people who ride with me thinks it's ridiculous, which I don't actually care about, but I have to admit it kind of sucks the fun out of long trips. If it was a dedicated trail rig great, dd not so much.
