Default mesh grille inserts

Does anyone know who makes a true mesh "insert" for the JK grille? everything I'm finding installs behind the grille. Rugged Ridge comes close with a blank insert and a billet flush mount insert but no mesh. It should push in through the front and give an appearance of a flush mount with the front of the grille, black of course

Rampage makes a "3d" mesh grill insert. There's a bit of a bump out in the mesh that puts it in between the grill bars. It's ridiculously expensive for what is but about half the price of the same mopar part that's probably just rebranded.

That Rampage insert is the same one I've had my eye on too. Yeah, it's expensive but if you're the best (and cheapest) one available, I guess that's what you get.

My biggest hesitation on these is not the cost but the air restriction. Anyone ever report any overheating issues after installing a mesh grill insert?

Default Rampage Steel Mesh Grill Guard

I've had mine on for about 6 months, and I love it. Black on black, of course. I've had NO problems with overheating, and I'm also running a winch on top of my bumper. Not only does it look good, but it's helped keep a lot of sh*t from hitting my radiator. If I had it to do over again, I'd still go with the Rampage. On a side note, Rampage also owns a lot of prime real estate on my Jeep besides the grill guard (front bumper, rear bumper), and I also have their grab handles. I really wanted their seatcovers, but they were discontinued.

A bit closer to what I'm looking for but I guess I'll have to figure out how to make the blank inserts and some black screen material work to make the front grille look almost solid black. Thanks for the info everyone!

I take it you're happy with Rampage products. I was looking at their rock sliders but couldn't get any testimonials on the forum to aid my decision. Their bumpers look nicely finished but hard to make a decision just from a picture only. What's your experience with their quality, ruggedness, and fit on your jeep? Thanks, Brent
