metal cloak 2.5 mid arm vs. teraflex 2.5 long arm
Trying to gather as much info as possible. How much more flex can you gain by going with a long arm vs. a mid arm? Do the dual rate coils from metal cloak do anything different than the t-flex? Which ever set up i ultimately choose will be installed on a 2014 jku rubicon.

Flex is determined by shock length and bump stops not by how long the arms are. Proper sizing of the shocks and adding the right amount of bump stop for your tire size is critical for maximizing flex. Most people just install what came in the box and never really take the time to do it right. Tire height, width, and wheel back spacing will all have an affect on how much bump stop you will need for clearances. Trimming sheet metal and running flat fenders will also let you get by with less bump stop and increase travel. Metal Cloak has a longer free length coil which lets you run a longer travel shock therefore gaining more available articulation on the droop side. This is basically the benefit of running a dual rate coil. The softer top section will run collapsed at ride height and will expand more then a progressive coil. Teraflex uses short upper arms on their long arm kits and really have a poor design as far as arm mounts and geometry. I would take the short arm metal cloak over it any day.

I am definitely leaning more towards the MC. Thanks for the reply!! It seems if I set everything up right I will be just fine with the MC lift.
