Default Metalcloak hardware kit question

. Got a question about the flag nut for the rear upper control arm, axle end.

if you look at my pictures with the flag pointing outboard it will hit the dust shield. Turning it around is fine but they welded the nut so the crimp is inward.

guess it won’t matter but wanted to see if anyone had any words of wisdom.

also anyone have a link to torque specs? I found a spreadsheet once but of course I can’t find it. I think I have pieces everything together from various threads but want to confirm.

Do you still have the original flag nut? If so, nothing wrong with using that. Could easily put that one in a vice and bend it the other way too....or cut off and reweld the flag the other way. Nothing wrong with using it like you have in the first pic either IMO.

Here is a link to a torque spec doc on my google drive. I have that printed on a few pages and laminated. It stays in the jeep at all times. Handy to have easy access.

And for the hell of it, here is a QR code too just to see if it works -

inhave the original flag nut but the hardware kit is the larger 9/16” bolts. So I would have to use the old bolt as well.

I'm gonna run it as is. I’m sure it will be fine but odd they did it that way. I might shoot them a message later if I remember.

thanks a ton for the torque specs. Great idea to have them laminated!

that location should be a nut and washer. The flag nut is supposed to go on the bolt for the lower control arm at the frame end.

From factory the rear upper axle-side gets a flag nut. IDK how MC intends for it to be in their kit, but that is what it is from factory. That's how it's been on my '13 for the last 9 years since new at least.
