Method 105 Beadlocks and 37s...do I need spacer rings??
I purchased a set of Method 105 beadlocks and found out that some are recommending using the ring spacers when mounting on 37s due to thickness of the bead. I am planning on running a 37x12.5x17 and I am in between the Cooper STT Pro and Nitto Trail Grapplers and open to recommendations.
I know the reason they recommend the spacers is to prevent shearing off the head of the bolts due to ring deflection. I am hoping to hear first hand from yall if you needed them and what tires and size you mounted (I know 35s will mount no problem so please only 37s). I just didn't want to spend and extra couple hundred bucks if its not needed. Thanks for the help.

It's not about the size of the tire so much as the thickness of the bead. Some of those tires need spacers to allow you the room to grab the holes and stand firm on the spacers. I've seen where Nitto's take them because of their thick sidewall but I don't have any direct reference. I run AEV's and Mickey Thompson tires without a spacer, though I don't know that AEV planned to support thicker beads.
I totally misunderstood what you were asking in regards to spacers in the PM. I now see what you're talking about. No, I am not using spacers and have not had issues with the bolt heads. I have put mine up against several rocks in the past year too. Running Nitto Trail Grapplers.
