Mickey Thomson Weels question
The hub hole is 1/2 inch bigger on the wheels than the jeep + I have center caps. What do other people do to fill in the gap. I think that's why I'm getting a small shake in the front end. The wheels are balanced perfect. Thanks.
ah... not hubcentric wheels. it could be part of the reason you get shimmy in the front but it could also be many other things. what are the stats of your Jeep? lifted? Where do you feel the shake? sterring wheel? pedals/floor?
Gotcha. Did you just put these wheels on or have you had them and now all of the sudden it shakes? If you just put them on then it is probably the wheels, but if not, check the trac bar, Might be loose or the bushings might be bad.

If you just put the wheels on, most likely you also had your tires remounted and balanced. Could be an out of balance tire. Move the front tires to the back, and the backs to the front and see what happens. Or take it back to the tire shop and have them check the balance. By the way, whether a wheel is hub centric or not won't be the reason you have a shimmy. Hubcentric wheels are no more true than non-hubcentrics.
