Default mile marker e9000 ?

I JUST PICKED UP A E9000 TODAY AND INSTALLED IT IT RETRACTS FINE BUT IF YOU USE THE REVERSE BUTTON THE Solenoid starts to smoke so i disconnected it from the battery and opened the Solenoid box connected it back to the battery and tried again there is a small wire with a black coating on it from one Solenoid to the mounting screw and it is the one smoking what could be wrong?

Check your manual. I got a se9500c and if I remember right, I had to install/tighten the connections. Just make sure everything is where it is supposed to be and tight. I think I know which wire you are talking about. By the way... I have had mine for over a year now and it works great.

ok i fixed the winch i called mile marker and they told me a wire was shorted and told me how to fix it you have to remove the winch disconnect the 2 black wires going down to the winch then remove the 2 bolts next to the threaded leads they are about 8 inches long . then you will need a small screw driver to get the cover off you need to be careful there are 4 they are called brushes that are spring loaded on the cover you need to go thru the cover and make sure the wires are not shorting out and then tighten down the threaded leads terminals make sure every thing is tight and there are no shorts now put it back together you will need to be carful and make sure the brushes dont fall out of place i used my finger to hold most of them in place then took a couple small screw drivers to wedge then in to place and then pushed the cover back on insert the bolts and re install the leads to the terminals and make sure they are not touching the housing that will also make a short . winch is fixed .

just thought i would let you know if you ever have the problem i had
