Default mileage

I'm running a 3" lift with 35's and 5.13's. I installed the Hypertech Max energy Programmer to correct the speedo and gain a little performance. Drove it for two days and averaged 19mpg according to computer. Then installed AEM Brute Force and mileage dropped to 16mpg according to computer, same driver and same route. Shouldn't the AEM have helped a little? Do I need to reprogram the Hypertech? I know it's a JEEP and if I was concerned about mileage I should have bought a Toy, but dropping from 19 to 16 mpg's SUX!

No. CAIs almost always make mileage drop. How can they not? Introducing more air into the engine makes the computer turn the fuel up.

My thinking was that living at 7000', a little more air wouldn't hurt. Guess I was wrong. Again!

I GAINED fuel economy when I added my AIRAID... not a ton, but 1/2 to 1 mile per gallon increase, on average... and others on here have reported the same.

Maybe it's the programmer's influence on your CPU's settings?
