Question Mileage minimum before CAI install?

So - I ordered my Airaid CAI from Quadratec this past Monday, and got it yesterday (that's friggin' FAST service - but all my other "mods"/accessories are on backorder).

My question: Is there some "break-in" mileage point that you should exceed before installing a CAI? I'll have a little over 300 miles on the engine after my travels tonight - is that sufficient, or should I wait for a higher mileage mark (and if so, what mileage, and WHY)?

Thanks much!

Has really nothing to do with break-in, just put it in and enjoy the power and sound.

They are quick, aren't they.:toung:

Actually, my 2-door isn't that slow at all... it hauls some pretty serious $ss when I get on it! Loving it so far, and figure it can only get better with the CAI (and eventually, a new exhaust to balance out the equation).

I had test-driven a 4 door automatic, too, just for comparison's sake, and found it lacking in power, particularly on the highway. Not TOO bad, but the 2 door is a different animal entirely. Lucky me! Back to the thread: Where are all the mechanics to weigh in here? Should I break any particular mileage threshhold before installing the CAI, or is it as safe as Egmont and I think it is?

Although I am not a mechanic, I can only think that adding a CAI would be a good thing with very little bad. This mod only makes your engine run more efficiently so... do it.

It is not like you are adding nitrous, just more fresh air.

Yup - removing the soft top as it's installed from the factory in the Dual Tops group was just a LOAD of fun.

That's OK though... because where my 2 door is "Limited" in the backseat department, your 4 door is "Limited" in the engine compartment. It's all good - we buy as our needs/wants dictate, and make certain trade-offs. You'll be able to haul more people, I'll be able to haul more $ss. I'm probably going to remove the backseat altogether, the next time the hard top is off...
