Angry Mirror Head Removal 08 JK

Hello All, No doubt as everyone already posted about the Rugged Ridge Mirror Relocator Brackets.... Unfortunately I saw no posts about how to removed the Mirror Heads. I have used WD40 Twisted, Pulled everything I could think of without success.

Looking for Videos, How to Posts, Anything anyone would like to offer. Summer is hear and I'd love to have this done privately. This is the only step I cannot complete myself. I'd really prefer not to visit a dealer!!!

Thanks all!

The mirror head bolt is basically corroded on so you just need a hell of a lot of muscle to pull that sucker off. Believe me it will come off with enough strength. Maybe see if anyone has any impact tools for more torque.

I definitley see the corrosion. Do i just pull straight out? I can bug the mechanics at work to maybe help break it loose...

I found if you saturate it with PB Buster or something similar and let sit overnight. Then pull up while leaving it mounted on the door. It'll come right off.

put the bolt back in - most of the way, but not all the way - and then tap on the bolt head with a hammer/mallet. Be sure to hold the mirror while you are smacking the bolt.

Good luck with the passenger side mirror. I could not see anything in it after relocation. I ditched the hole idea. I thought the mirrors looked funny sticking out past the windshield.

I like my RR mirror relocation brackets. The passenger mirror is a little hard to see through. I just added a small round stick on mirror to the lower right side of the mirror and wa la. I can see just fine.

Well, i've been twisting, pulling, spraying, prying and tapping... No luck... I think it may have moved 1/8th of an inch maybe... but not worth trying anymore... The Dealer wont even work on it....not because it's after market but because the thought of pulling on this thing is rediculous.... :-( What a pain in the @$$.

It's getting returned... To those of you who have succeeded? Props to you!
