Default mirror relocation

Anyone running a mirror relocation kit that actually lets you see them with the doors ON too? I just got a real nice kit that relocated them to the windshield frame but you can't see the passenger side when the doors are on. Not good.

Exactly. you loose about 33% of the mirror. This is normal, and that's why I don't have it.

Just a thought, (I qualify that I have no experience with mirror relocation), maybe install of a stick on concave view extender type mirror would make things bearable for you. I have a 2" on my (stock location) passenger side now, and a 1" on my driver side. I wouldn't drive without them now that I have gotten used to using them and the extension to the side view they offer. Good luck.

I run with my driver's side mirror relocated, and leave the passenger side mirror on the door. It means that I still get full mirror coverage when I have my doors on, and get mirror coverage on the driver's side when I'm doorless (not all that often, given that I live in Alberta)

Next summer I'll probably try to find a motorcycle rearview that I can stick into a hinge on the passenger side.

x2. I have the doors off so rarely that I just have these on, but they've worked fine.

Would the concave stick-on type mirror view expansion mirrors make things bearable? I have a two inch on my passenger side stock location mirror now and a 1" on the driver mirror and wouldn't want to drive without now that I am used to using them. Just a thought.

Default relocation brackets

Hey redrunner-

I permanently mounted the drivers side mirror in the relocation bracket and put the black cover where the old one was, but on passengers side, I left the factory bracket on the door so I can switch that mirror back and forth depending on whether I'm running with doors or without. This gives you full visibility whether you're running with or without doors and doesn't at all look odd like you might think. Just one extra step as you're removing or replacing doors, you also move the mirror.

Tip: when running with doors on, don't screw the mirror into the factory bracket really tight because it's always a pain to get the mirror out later if the bolt was drawn really tight. There is a groove that prevents the mirror from rotating so there's no need to crank the bolt in really hard, just turn it snug enough so it can't vibrate out then it won't be such a hassle when you want to take it out and put it in the relocation bracket later.
