Modifications VS. warranty
I know that this is probably a strange question, but are there any warranty issues when adding say a 3" lift, steering stabilizer, after market bumpers, larger tires and wheels? When I get my Jeep, I want to do some slight mods, but don't want to void the factory warranty?
Sorry if this topic has already been gone over, I couldn't find anything on it.

from the mouth of Jeep, though not a direct quote:
if a part fails on your Jeep, and it is determined that a modification that you installed was the reason for failure, it will not be covered by warranty. i.e., if you put on 3" lift with 35" tires, and your pumpkin explodes, DC won't cover it, claiming additional stress on drivetrain components due to the lift and heavier tires. but if you put 3" of lift on, and 35" tires, and your steering column catches on fire due to faulty wiring, that will be covered.
also, if you take it off-road, and a part fails, that may or may not be covered. if you are doing some mild fording, and you become hydrolocked, DC may say it's your fault, not theirs. yes, they claim 30" fording capability, but they can state that you were 1)above that, 2) going faster than recommended. whatever.
Know that dealers don't have the say on whether or not something is covered. the dealer may do the work, but DC covers the warranty and the cost.

Edit: Eddie, think we can get a quote from DCX customer service and make it a sticky?

Why make it a sticky??? People don't read sticky's anyway. It is calle dthe Magnusson-Moss act.

Agreed - stickies are overlooked, and considering that 95% of the newbs can't even use the Search function
I don't think it'd actually cut down on the number of repetitive posts about this... Then again, what harm would it do, to make it a sticky (that way, we can easily refer them to the post without having to search FOR them).
